short response paper

Five of the entries included in your commonplace book should be supplemented by a separate short-response paper, submitted via the Google Drive and worth 10 points each. Requirements as follows:

• one full, single-spaced page (works cited page separate)
• no intro or concluding paragraph: just start with the thesis/main idea at the top of the page
• properly cited and integrated quotations
• no outside research

Responses are due by class time on the day the work appears on the course calendar and are intended to not only enrich class discussion but also improve concise writing and lead students toward ideas for the research essay.

Students may complete more than the required five short responses; the lowest grade will be dropped.
